4/20/07- We sit down this week with Through The Smoke-Firehouse.com host, Chief Billy Goldfeder, at FDIC.

Thousands of firefighters are INJURED in the line of duty, each year and HOW they are handled and treated following the injury varies depending upon where you are from.

In some places, you and your family need to only focus on you getting better. BUT, in many other places, you are essentially ON YOUR OWN. How will YOU and your family be treated if YOU are seriously INJURED in the line of duty.

One of our guests this week is Wendy Norris, a Firefighter from Texas. A truss roof collapsed on Wendy causing a severe head injury and respiratory and facial burns when a falling beam knocked off her facemask. While that in itself would be a nightmare for any fireighter, the actions and events following her injury are the focus of this weeks THRU THE SMOKE.

4/17/07- thephoenixprojectonline.com launches to provide online assistance to emergency service workers who have been injured in the line of duty.  The site will be under heavy construction as information, resources, articles, and support services are being added.  Please
come back often to check out the updates.
